Google ads in widgets

Google announced that they will start serving advertising within widgets, small applications that are often found embedded in web pages. There are over 14,000 widgets available just for the company’s iGoogle personalized homepage service. No wonder Google is trying to monetize it. The company promises to only display targeted ads to visitors.

This move comes after a recent announcement that advertising will find its way in YouTube videos, a company that Google purchased a year ago for more than 1.65 billion dollars.
