FeedBurner is now free for everyone

FeedBurner which was recently acquired by Google announced earlier this week that their subscription-based PRO service is now available to everyone free of charge. FeedBurner has always had their RSS and email subscription service free of charge but for a monthly fee, they also offered a PRO version that provided users with more detailed feed statistics. The MyBrand service that allows webmasters to personalize their feed address in an effort to create brand awareness is also available for free from now one.
This move makes sense considering the Google acquisition. Although, I am sure many people used the FeedBurner’s free services, I doubt that many bothered with the PRO version. Considering that Google revenues from advertising are huge, the FeedBurner revenues will not be missed. And now they get more people to use their service. This move might also bring back some of the FeedBurner users who left after the acquisition.
