Google releases Website Optimizer tool for landing page optimization

Google has announced another Beta tool, this one targeting affiliate marketers and the performance of landing pages. Success in affiliate marketing is directly related to having a landing page that captures the visitor’s attention so that he doesn’t run away after a couple of seconds wasting the marketer’s AdWords budget. Designing a good landing page with a high conversion rate is not as easy as most people think. Google wants to help marketers improve their Return On Investment (ROI) by helping them optimize their landing pages. They have now released a new tool, the Website Optimizer, that allows marketers to test different landing pages and collect detailed statistics about their performance so as to maximize ROI. The Website Optimizer is integrated with AdWords and it can be accessed via the AdWords interface under the Campaign Management tab. This tool can be an affiliate marketers best friend. Give it a try!

As a copywriter who specializes in direct response online copy, I’m ecstatic about this tool. Other multivariate testing apps exist, but cost several thousand dollars a month. GWO is free to all AdWords users and makes multivariate testing available to small businesses everywhere. I’ve written an article on getting started with this tool at http://www.marketingpilgrim.com/2007/04/increase-conversion-rates-with-the-google-website-optimizer.html
