Monetize your blog’s images with BritePic

There is a new service offered by the AdBrite advertising network that allows you to display ads with any image in your blog or website. BritePic replaces the standard HTML image tag with a lightweight Flash player that display the same image and overlays keyword triggered advertising on top of it. The service is similar to the Video advertising product also offered by AdBrite. The company makes it easy for anyone to use BritePic automatically generating the code needed. The idea is interesting considering that webmasters and bloggers are always trying to get as much ad revenue as possible out of their sites. There are some small issues regarding the use of BritePic such as requiring that JavaScript enabled browsers which are very common these days anyways. Also, the code generated along with the Flash player ads to the size of a webpage so it will probably reduce the page’s loading time; so, use it sparingly.
