The creators of Fox’s hit cartoon Family Guy have started a viral video campaign on MySpace. There is a slow but continuing movement from the old networks to try and utilize the large popularity of online video distribution channels.
Fox will be making available 10-minute episodes exclusive to MySpace of Stewie and Brian moonlighting as late-night talk show hosts in Up Late. During the first such episode, the two introduce Rob Corddry, star of new Fox series, The Winner.
This move follows BBC signing an agreement with YouTube to distribute promotional clips of some popular shows on a specialized BBC channel. CBS has also signed a deal with startup Joost to deliver some of its best content to paying customers.
