Google answers is no more

Google has made it official via a posting on their blog that they will be shuting down the Google Answers service. After more than 4 years online, a small project that was started by 4 people will now go dormant. More than 800 experts answered questions that were posted on the service. I never used the service myself so I can’t comment on how good it was. A brief look at the reaction around the blogosphere shows that some people really liked it and some just plain hated. With Google Answers out of the picture, Yahoo Answers should become the dominant player in the field.
